What is “Better. Local. Radio.”? Better. Local. Radio… it is a commitment we have made to our community, our advertisers, our listeners and to ourselves. It is a standard that we strive to live up to. While we want to operate the best stations in the communities that we serve, ‘Better. Local. Radio.’ is not about saying we are better than our competitors. It is a goal that we can be better than ourselves. Instead of dreading another work day, we prefer to love what we do. Instead of taking the easy way out to just get the job done, we prefer to work extra hours and extra days to exceed the standard expectation. Instead of providing programming that we think our community wants, we provide programming that our community has told us they want. For example, it is typical radio to play 7 or 8 minutes of commercials in a row, simply because somebody told us 30 years ago that it was a good idea. You know we need to air commercials to pay our bills and you’re okay with that. But instead of assaulting you with commercials, we decided to limit our breaks to two minutes or less on our music stations. Limiting our commercials to two minutes or less is not going to change the world, but it is the right thing to do for our listeners and for our advertisers. That is just one of many examples of how we do things differently. THE key ingredient in the secret to our success (and please do not tell our competitors)… is our people. We have no employees, only dedicated Team Members that have a stake in the radio stations. We use the latest technology to deliver great community-oriented programming. But, all the computers and wires in the world cannot replace the heart and soul of just one of our team members. When you love what you do, it shows.
